Back in September, I was walking my dog when I saw the cutest student desk (it looks somewhat like this, without the left-hand drawers and unpainted) left out for the trash. I was nearly a mile from home, but I rushed my dog back at top speed and ran back to the desk alone. It took me close to an hour to carefully roll it home. I hauled it into the room where I thought I’d make awesome use of this desk once I painted it pretty. I’ve done no such thing since, and I’ve decided that I don’t think I have much use for a desk in that room (adjacent to the living room, separated by a 40” wide wall), especially considering that we have a large dining table on the other side of the apartment if spreading out is needed.

My thought is that I’ll move the armoire I have in the corner of the living room to the place where the desk sits now, against the wall, and put a comfy chair there, too, for a little reading nook. I’ll sell the desk on Craigslist, and we’ll custom-build a corner desk for the 30”x40” space.

So that’s why I’m posting photos of corner desks, for inspiration. I love the look of this one, don’t you? I love the white top with the wood borders. That, or a black top, or any other color, really.
