For some reason, I have a fear of hanging things on the wall. Ok, maybe not fear, exactly, but I do have commitment issues. For one, there is so much great art out there that it’s hard to choose, and I often worry that I’m not so great at curating. Do I go minimal, and have just a few prints per room, or go all-out and have large clusters of them on various walls?
It’s always the last thing I do when I decorate a new apartment. In fact, a few years ago I (stupidly) ordered a bunch of frames from FramesByMail.com. But did 90% of those ever find a spot on my wall? Nope. Or how about the time I hiked all the way to the art store to buy dozens of twelve inch stretcher bars so I could hang panels of fabric on the walls? Some of them had a brief display in 2007, but have since been sitting in a box waiting to be sold at a stoop sale or repurposed (I do have plans to make bulletin boards out of them one day).
Point is, I’m going to try a bit harder to be careful and considerate about what I hang on the walls this go round. And I’ll absolutely kick myself if I can’t find a place for at least one laser cut print from Molly M Designs.
